A Week Before
-
Moisturize your skin daily for 3-4 days before the session using the products you normally use on your skin (lotion, coconut oil, etc.);
-
You can lightly exfoliate the area that will be tattooed one time 4 days before the appointment (very gentle scrub or just a couple minutes of exfoliating with loofah, do not use unfamiliar products or abrasive exfoliators);
-
Hydrate consistently. Well-hydrated skin takes ink better and supports smoother healing;
-
Avoid sunburn, excessive tanning, or waxing of the area being tattooed;
-
Please read and complete your consent form ahead of time.
The Day Before
-
Get a full night of rest. Sleep makes a big difference in how your body handles discomfort and stress;
-
Avoid alcohol;
-
Prepare your snacks and essentials;
-
Pack water, snacks, and anything you’ll want with you so you’re not rushing the morning of your appointment;
-
Skip intense workout;
-
Avoid shaving the area. If you have long body hair on the area that will be tattooed, you can trim the hair with the trimmer.
